Deborah's Story
Life
After the 11th grade (1974) I quit Lyman and went to SJC and got my adult education diploma & started working full time. I worked in the area for 6 years then I joined the Air Force. I was in for 4 yrs active & 6 yrs active reserves. See my military bio for more. I married while stationed in Germany and promptly divorced about 6 mo's later. Don't ask. I came home and started working at KSC and moved to Titusville where I currently live. I did remarry in 1995 to a wonderful guy and got 3 kids in the deal. I now have 3 grandkids too. I worked at the space center for 13 yrs but 2 yrs ago I had to quit due to medical disability. But,life is still good.
School
I don't have a lot to say about High School. I was pretty shy and quiet and had few friends. I wasn't allowed to do any after school activites so that really stopped me from having many friends too.

n I was stationed at Lowry AFB,CO for almost a year for school to become a Weapons Control Systems Mechanic on F4 aircraft. I was then stationed in Spangdahlem, Germany for 2 yrs. Next I was stationed at Eglin AFB, FL for the remainder of my tour. In 1984 I was honorably discharged and moved back to Longwood and worked at HarCar aluminum in Sanford. I worked there as assistant VP of Sales & Service till 1987. I started working at the Kennedy Space Center in 1987 as a Scheduler/Planner for Lockheed and also re-enlisted in the active reserves and did my duty at Patrick AFB for 6 yrs. I also went to Shepard AFB, Witchita Falls,TX for a few months for cross training into the medical field for my reserve duty. I actually got Honor Graduate for that course. I also received 2 Air Force Achievement Medals while on active duty and I was a Staff Sgt when I was honorably discharged. So,I guess you could say I had a pretty good time with the military.
