Deborah's Story
Life
After finishing secretarial college and working at a medical secretarial position for a couple of years, I decided to join the Navy to see the world! Though I did not see much of it (I was only stationed in Florida, Tennessee, California, and Maryland), I did meet the man of my dreams. We met and married in a month and have been married since 1977. To add to our bliss, we enjoyed six years of a honeymoon before starting a family. and two grandchildren. After my husband retired from the US Marines, we settled at our last duty station, here at the eastern shores of North Carolina. At this time, we are both civil service employees. We are working on expanding our own business so that we can retire from our jobs early. A good friend always tells us, "It only takes money to retire, not age." I missed the last reunion (30th), but I hope to see you all at the next. Will there be a 40th? Boy are we getting old, or what?
