Deborah's Story
Couldn't wait to get out of Shelton after highschool. Moved to Seattle and lived with Yvonne in the U-District. Met a guy, got married, got disinterested, moved to Kodiak. Worked on a commercial crab vessel, then started my own secretarial service on Kodiak Island. Had my daughter Ellory, and moved back to Washington in 1987 with an attorney I had worked with in Kodiak. Remarried, had my son Phillip, and then moved back to Mason County in 1994. Finally bought my place in the Skokomish Valley where I had always said I would eventually live. I was happily a single mother for about ten years while I was developing my other baby, my soap business. My kids are 26 and 2.
In 1996,I started an all natural soap manufacturing company and I currently lease space on John's Prairie Road in Shelton, and have a permanent stall at the Olympia Farmer's Market where I sell my products. I have several wholesale outlets, but am trying to grow my business and looking for more food co-ops, natural food stores, spas, massage clinics, etc, to carry my products. I am currently manufacturing soaps, body butters, lotions, bath salts, lip balms, whipped shea butters, and bath bombs. Wanna see? :) Check out my website at shepherdsoaps dot com.

would have to be the Quinault area. I still miss Alaska, and may end up there again some day.
I am a very spiritual person, and believe that we should accept each other's lifestyle choices and religious beliefs without being judgmental or self-righteous. I don't think corporate/organized religion is spiritually enlightening. Hypocricy and brainwashing disturb the Hell out of me. I love the earth and all living things. I like being a "tree hugging, dirt worshipping greener", and I think those little snot-nosed kids at Evergreen need to get over themselves and start focusing on Peace instead of on how "unique" they can appear. Get real! I'm becoming more and more like my MOTHER every year. OMG! I am living with a professional art print maker and wood turner who is fabulously good to me. I am a Board Member at Hood Canal School and I'm on the Board of Directors for Mason County Transportation Association. I LOVE being on the river, drumming, reading, cooking, and spending time with my family and my amazing furry friends. I have a Boxer and a pit bull, who are the sweetest babies ever, and maybe a little spoiled because I just want them to be happy. I wish I could retire to Playa del Carmen in the winters, and Southeast Alaska in the summers . . . . So what about you?
