Deborah's Story
Here's an update September 2011:
I'm still in Denver attending University of Colorado, Denver, finishing my degree in History. The plan is to finish up next year and plan to attend Denver Seminary which will take a couple years. After that......China here I come, again!
While I was in China, there were several girls I got to know that had been more-or-less trapped into working at the local brothels. I'm going to make a way for other's like them to go to school, have a place to live while in school, and give them the hope for a future without being taken advantage of by men that don't have much regard for women and most especia...Expand for more
lly, girls. Does this sound like a silly idea? It did to me too.....until I did it.
Jesus says He will be with us when we go to different and difficult places to help people. I can say from experience, He keeps His word. The girls of China need to know what an amazing Lord Jesus is. They need to know that He also lived in a society that had no regard for women and girls. He was surrounded by women. They were the one's that stayed with Him even at the cross.
My life is dedicated to being a part of bringing light and life to the girls of China. It's been an honor to work there for several years and I can hardly wait to go back!
