Deborah's Story

Life My life sure didn't go the way I imagined, although things have turned out pretty well for me. I never married or had kids; in spite of how I felt in h.s., as I got older those life choices didn't seem right for me. I'm living in the San Diego area with 2 close friends and 3 cats (one theirs, one mine and one ours) now. I've chosen self-employment, due to the many medical problems that have developed over the years; I need the luxury of a flexible schedule. At 40 I chose to go back to college for my B.A. degree and I ended up with 2 degrees, one in Liberal Studies and one in English. I graduated cum laude, which I'm proud of, as I managed it at a time when I was adjusting to life with fibromyalgia. Degree in Humanities, in 1980 if I remember right. In 1998 I went back to school, CBU, for the B.A. I'd always wanted in English and ended up with two degrees, one in Liberal Studies and one in English, graduating cum laude in 2000. Getting those last 2 degrees was murder and I've since sworn off school for life! Workplace I've had a good number of jobs, from answering service operator to editor's assistant for a psychiatric journal. I worked for someone who programmed and sold MIDI music before most people had heard of it! Now I have my own home business - writing, editing, proofreading and more! I sell Watkins products as well.
