Deborah's Story
Life
My family and I moved to England in December 2000. We became dual citizens in 2007. I have three sons ages 28, 30 and 32 and they all have a zest for travel. While living in the UK we travelled to more countries than I can list including the usual ones in Europe-Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland, Holland, Belgium, Austria, Slovenia, Greece, Malta, Cyprus, Spain, Turkey, the Baltic area including Russia, Estonia, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, as well as Egypt and Morocco and the UK countries of Wales, Scotland and Ireland. Some of us have ventured to Australia where we'd love to spend more time exploring this vast country. All in all, living overseas has been a great experience.
In Aug 2008 due to parents' failing health, my sons and I returned to our home in San Clemente, Ca. My oldest son took a 'gap year' to work and travel around the world, graduated from California Lutheran University where he was a captain and four year athlete of the swim team before completing receiving his teaching credential from Concordia University. My middle son is a professional guitarist and graduated from The Berklee College of Music in 2013. He is currently li...Expand for more
ving in Nashville and has a zeal for backpacking mountains. My youngest son graduated from JSerra Catholic HS which is in the Trinity League with St. Joe's 'other half' St. John Bosco and old rivals Mater Dei, Rosary and Servite. He graduated from Stanford University majoring in engineering and works as a data analytics manager.
I graduated from USC with a BS in Business Administration studying accounting. After working as a CPA in public accounting, I ventured out to industry working as a controller and CFO for various companies before taking time out to raise my family. To keep busy, I've run a pre-school business, worked as a substitute teacher, a realtor and coached competitive swimming. A little bit of everything! After my return to San Clemente, I was able to complete my Masters in Education in School Counseling where I graduated from Liberty University with High Distinction. I currently work as a middle school counselor with Capistrano Unified School District and am a seasonal reader for UCSD admissions office. My favorite work experience has been any job or volunteering where I can work with children. I love helping them achieve their goals.
