Debra Christley:

CLASS OF 1991
Orlando, FL

Debra's Story

I usually blow off steam by listening to music or playing games on the net. With 4 kids around, it's usually hard to find enough time or peace to do either. My hero is my dad. Most kids think that their parents don't know squat until they grow up themselves and start looking at their parents differently. After I grew up, I realized that my father was a great man who always tried his best to help others and showed my sister and I that there are more important things in life than what we want and how to get what we want. I also realized later on after he died that I have always been like him; helping those that needs it and always fighting for what I believe in. I grew up in Orlando, and stayed there until I was 32. Then I moved to Knoxville TN. That is where I divorced my husband and came back to Orlando for a few months when my father's health started to decline. I finally convinced my parents to move up to Tennessee and I've been here ever since. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Donita Coleman, because I have missed my best friend. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel my ...Expand for more
back porch and add on a new bedroom. My dream home would be a southern style plantation home that is big enough for my family. I have learned from my kids to live life day to day and to enjoy the simple things. I would like to see my 12th grade English teacher, Ms. Shultz. She made English class fun. The whole class actually looked forward to coming to class. Imagine that! Even the student that always wanted to cut class wanted to be there. If I won $100 million, I'd give 25 million of it to cancer research, then spend the rest on a new house, 3 new cars and college tuitions for 4 kids. My best friend would tell you I'm fun, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as an escapee from the nuthouse. I share my home with my mom, my fiancee, and 4 kids, which I find cramped. The one thing I would do differently in life would be to not say yes when my ex-husband proposed. But then again if I did that I wouldn't have my children. In 10 years, I hope to be happily married and living in a bigger house. I'm going to get there by working hard, saving money and hoping I win the lottery.
