Debra's Story
Rember the "All American Dolls Dancing Team". Football games, writing papers, trying to find the right thing to wear... wow! Wonderful people figuring things out. Well, my journey has zigged and zagged and is oozing with too much to write in this little space. But I'll try to wrap it up in a nutshell. I have three successful, happily married children living in Ocala with eleven grandchildren and expecting number twelve at Christmas. I adore them ALL! I finally gave into my God given talent of teaching in 1995 after many other professions and started my own private state funded 4 year old pre-K. We have been top rated in the state since 2005. Have had over 340 graduates, 12 children to 2 teacher ratio, it is attached to my home but is very nice :). I walk down my hallway and open a door to go to work. all about themselves and the world around them as well as calming techniques and how to make good choices because what you do happens back to you.. They learn all their kindergarten readiness skills and are reading as they walk into kindergarten and are problem solvers not problem makers. I get to mentor other teachers along the way and do some parenting classes. Teach Sunday School some years and volunteer other places some years. I've been at so many different places or chapters in my life, as I'm sure we all can relate. There came a time when I needed it all just to get simple, so I could a good grip on it and take a second wind. That simple strategy is this. We were made for two reasons and we won't find peace or fulllment until we do these two things.
