Debra's Story
Life
I love to travel, read and spend time with family and friends. I am married to E.J. Gniewek who is retired from the Philadelphia Federation of Teachers and we have a wonderful son who is an attorney, a beautiful daughter-in- law, and three amazing grandchildren.
School
I was a bit of a behavior problem in high school, always acting out, frequently cutting. I was a high school educator and I was listed in Who's Who in America. Imagine that!
College

o completed certification programs in Secondary English Education and Educational Administration from Gwynedd Mercy College and Temple University.
Workplace
I had been a librarian at Council Rock High School South since the school opened in 2002 and retired in 2013. Before that I was the librarian at Spruance School and the Coordinator of Library Programs and Services for the School District of Philadelphia. I have published articles in American Libraries, School Library Journal, Knowledge Quest and Learning and Media and have presented workshops for educators in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Washington, D.C., Miami, and Dublin, Ireland. I have served on the American Immigration Law Foundation Teacher Advisory Committee; I am a member of the Executive Board of The Multicultural Resource Center and the Bucks County Library Association Steering Committee.
Now I’m enjoying retirement and spending time with our grandchildren.
