Dee's Story
Hello Everyone, After reading comments from other "65 DHS Classmates" regarding their wishes to spend more time together with old friends.
These are my own personal thoughts on the subject; if we don't add other functions, events and activities to our 50th Reunion it won't be worth the expense for our long distance classmates to attend! At our age, we could consider it a vacation having the next year to save for it (if need be), allowing both classmate and significant other (if that be the case) to attend. I appreciate the time and effort our committee has put into it so far, yet we need to encourage out of state classmates to attend! There is still plenty of time so lets get excited about meeting up after 50 years. They say location, location, location is everything, so why not have our "One and only 50th DHS Reunion" at a hotel that accommodates all of our needs including shuttle service so that a rental car would not be an added expense for those who do not want it.
We could plan a Meet and Greet Friday evening, allowing folks to mingle, have room parties, lots of laughs catching up on the past 50 years. Saturday, running into each other at breakfast etc., hire trans...Expand for more
portation to take us back to the high school or what ever is planned.
So by the evening of our reunion we will have already spent time together. It would avoid drinking and driving, especially if our locals have reservations also. By Sunday other activities could be planned or by catching up with old friends they might go off and do something on their own. All and all, we would be together for several days, isn't that what it's all about.
Pass the word, let's get our membership increased on this website including the guys. Send in the required information necessary for the roster.

Lived my entire life in New England till my husband passed in 2/07, 2 children grown living their own lives in CA and CO. My parents having lived in FL for 30 years now needed caring for. I moved here in 1/08, sold my NH house in summer of 2010 now call this home. My Folks have since passed, I'm free as a bird except; I have a bird his name is Buddy.
