Deena's Story

In 2011, after being laid off from my job I decided to become "semi" retired. The original plan was to work part-time and continue teaching APICS classes, which I did until 2014. In 2012, I began my own business, Deena & Donna, making handcrafted soaps, bath and body products. My sister, Donna, also makes candles and our own toilet spray called "Poo-La-La" - needless to say, it's one of our best sellers! We sell at a local vintage, upcycle shop in Antioch and do a few small craft/boutique events in the area. We have our own website, are on Facebook and Google. It's been quite an interesting journey since CVHS. I've worked in several industries - manufacturing, government contract, retail - in operation...Expand for more
s management and purchasing. The most fun jobs were at Atari and as employee #7 at Beverages and more - lots of great samples! I am a lifetime APICS CPIM, served on the board of directors of APICS-Solano Chapter, was active at the District level and taught CPIM classes for several years. Steve and I were married December 1972. We've lived in Antioch since 1994. Kids are grown and on their own. Andrea lives in Arizona with a daughter and 2 grandchildren in Texas. Sadly, Derek passed away in 2009, leaving his wife and 3 sons who live in Hollister. Erika works for a local HVAC company. Unfortunately - or maybe not - my violin was damaged during the Loma Prieta earthquake and I've never had it repaired.
