Deirdre's Story
Life
I have lived many places. Iowa, Minn., Calif., Ill. Graduated high school from Torrance High Ca. Went to college in CA and in Ill. Married once, hopefully. One daughter who was born in 1999. Her name is Veronica. Yes after the Archies comic character. I love to travel. We went to Egypt to visit my parents while they were living there. I have been to every state west of the Miss. (and some not)and plan to make it to every state before I die. I would love to see France (my foriegn language of choice) I have been to Germany, but didnt see enough. I read smut and science fiction. I love biographies and I try to ignor politics but I admit to being quite liberal in my beliefs. I like to paint my toenails but not my fingernails.
I work 3rd shift mostly and am always tired. I live in Davenport, Ia. My father is in Katmandu, my mother is in Muscatine Ia. My brother still lives at home. My grandmother on my mom's side is still with us. I have a dog, (muffin) and 2 cats, (Baby and Sparky). We had another cat but he had a heartattack. That was horrible. I rarely drink but I love to dance. Havent really gone out since my daughter was born. I do like Mudslides tho. Frappacino's from starbucks are my favorites (or the iced mocha). my favorite food is tator tot casserole. My favorite thing to do to relax is wrap a blanket around me and snuggle up on the couch. I watch CSI, law and order and I absolutely love the Amazing Race.

Workplace
After I left Riverside,CA I moved back to the midwest. I accepted a position at the Casino Rock Island, Rock Island Illinois. I w...Expand for more
as a security dispatcher for a few months, then moved up to Security Officer (that is very important to them, God forbid you call them guards!!) I was promoted to Lead Officer on third shift. After 2 years in that department I tired of kicking butt and transfered to the Cage Department. Sounds exotic. NOT. Cashiering behind bars. Decorative, not safety. I supervise different shifts, do scheduling for a 40 plus staff, customer intervention/service, night auditing, and tons of paperwork. Basically I get to run around and tell people to smile and quit goofing off. I love to be bossy. The Casino business is booming and I like what I do. It isn't as big as Vegas, but we do get the exciting players with the crazy ways to cheat and that is fun. I have been there 13 years now. We are building a new property that should be completed in about 2 years with an attached hotel and separate theatre/convention center. Like I said, business is booming. The only better alternative for me would be to hit the lottery. Oh wait, I dont gamble. As for the past, I worked for a swap meet (The Roadium Open Air Market) from age 15 till high school graduation. My mom put me on a bus with an ad in my hand and no clue, but I loved the job and all the cute off duty police officers. Ah the hormones of a teenage girl. During the summers while I went to college I temped for my mom. Clerical crap. Phones copy work etc. I also worked for a doctors office in Riverside. (Truman Johnson, M.D.) The doctor was great. I got fired by his wife. She thought I didnt want to be a medical assistant. She was right. Too gross and yucky for me. Saved! Hallelujah!
