Delinda's Story

Hi All - Life is great - I live in my favorite place in the world, am around wonderfully interesting and talented people here, and am doing things I love. I hope you are too! Of course, there have been the hard times too. But these things have been the substance of my life - have taught me so much, defined my strength and myself. I am deeply grateful for these things and wouldn't change even a little part of it. My favorite things are the wilderness, hiking & camping, sharing with friends, dance, art, theater, music, community service, gardening, all the independent, eclectic and talented people who live here in Taos, and my work. I have served on Taos Search and Rescue now for 12 years. I handle a search dog, a White German Shepherd named Zatoichi. He's really a great partner and friend. I still dance a bit, but it is no longer my main work. I own a community access performance art studio and teach a few classes a week there. It keeps me dancing just enough. I plan to dance as long as possible and hope I will be able to dance until my last days. It is possible...last year I danced with a broken knee-cap, so there is evidence that I will not give it up easily. I am a sculptor. I wo...Expand for more
rk in cast glass and bronze. It is wonderful work. I love the challenge and nature of working in glass and the bronze is a nice contrast to the glass. My sculpture studio is at my home next to the National Forest in the foothills above Taos. My studio for architectural installation work is in the Town of Taos. The Taos studio, called DV ART and ARCHITECTURE, also has a gallery space for some of my sculpture. It gives me the best of both worlds, a place that is isolated and serene and a place that is in the hub, accessible and convenient for entertaining collectors, friends, and clients. . I also love computers - but mostly for what they do for my work and business. Otherwise, I'd rather not spend too much time on them, as I would rather sculpt, dance, be with friends, or be in the wilderness. But tonight, here I am at the computer, at Classmates thinking about where you are and what you might be doing and hope life has been full for you! I am leaving this small part of myself here, in hopes that others might leave a small part of themselves too and we might catch up. Life is such an interesting journey - we all have an important story, rich and vivid. I hope I'll get to read yours too.
