Most of my memories of Mather were good memories. I guess the worst memory would have been walking through the partially torn down Browning Hall. I had a personal tour from the guy who was in-charge of the demolition. I stood on the first floor and looked down toward Ms. Robinson's office and the parlor and could not hold back the tears. s if someone was pulling out parts of my heart. The man in charge explained to me how he was told incorrect information about the condition of the building. He was told the building was falling a part. I wish you could have seen the expression on his face when he said to me, "that was so far from the truth". He had to send for another wrecking ball the one they had could not do the job because the building was a sound structure. Wow! What a sad day for Matherites and the community of Camden both black and whte.
