Delores's Story
Rod and I have been married 52 years.We have 3 children, Kevin, Stephen, and Deborah and 6 grandchildren. We got married and life was on a run from there. We moved 16 times in the 20 years Rod was in the Navy. Rod was accepted into the NECEP program and graduated from the University of Washington with a chemical engineering degree. Rod was a LCDR in the navy when he retired in 1984. He retired from Westinghouse in 2004. As he says "the first 20 years I worked for MOM, the next for DOD, the third for DOE, and now for DEE. We now live on our steel pilothouse 37 foot two masted junkrigged schooner 6 months of the year.

Our beloved oldest son was diagnosed with ALS in 2004 and died February 2007. We were blessed to be able to spend a lot of time with him in Houston before he passed. He helped a lot in the design of our boat as he was an avid sailor himself. Our son Steve is a certified trainer with a bachelors degree.Debbie is an electrical engineer and is raising her grandson. Our permanent address is her house where we have our own bedroom when we are there. When not on the boat we visit with friends and family. We have 5 great grandchildren now to see too.
We have been to Alaska and plan to go back. Didn't get to see all we wanted. Also love the whole area up there along British Columbia and the San Juan's.
