Dena's Story
Life
Well, I'm a single mom; divorced from her daddy in '04. My daughter just turned 5 on 12/1/05 (she was a "2000" baby), her name is Christina LeighAnn Moss; thus my name is still 'Moss'; I didn't take 'Bryant' back (for her). She is the love of my life and my life mostly consist of making a living for us & taking care of her and my 14 year old cat. We moved into an apt. when we split from her dad, but he lives close by in Suwanee. We live in Sugar Hill, which is right next to Buford, Lake Lanier, Mall of Georgia. In other words, northern Gwinnett Co. I've been in Gwinnett now for, I guess, about 10 years or so. I've been all over Atlanta, lived in Decatur a long time ago, lived in Atlanta, owned 2 homes while still single but for now am renting. I'm not in a hurry to buy, I feel like as soon as I do, something major in my life will change and I will need to go through selling a house, which I'm not to excited about. Besides, working fulltime w/lots of overtime and taking care of my daughter, I really enjoy picking up the phone and calling maintenance to come fix what ever is wrong and I don't have to worry about it. My daughter is great and is so worth my failed marriage to her daddy. I feel like having her has been the greatest honor ever granted to me in my entire life, the fact that God entrusted me with the privlege of loving, raising, teaching, etc. His child. It's actually her birth that finally made me realize that there IS a God and He is good and He will help you if you ask Him. I have a hard time living my own words though, life is so hectic and busy I forget to stop and spend time to talk to & listen to Him. But, He's there - and that's a good feeling and a fact. Being divorced, I am also 'single'. I do not have a significant other. At this point in my life I am so busy making a living & taking care of Christina, I don't have a lot of time to get out in social environments. on Sundays. I used to be more active. Before the divorce, I was a full time wife & mother and was much more involved in church, but now I just don't have the time. I work for a company called "Gerdau Ameristeel". It's a steel fabricating plant (reinforcing steel/rebar - we just did the new GA Aquarium); I work in the sales division and am sales support. I like my job a lot and feel so fortunate to have it. It pays well, benefits are superior, and the work is challenging - I don't have much time to get bored. The only part I hate is that my daughter has to stay in before/after school care due to my working hours. She is is pre-K right now from 8a to 2:30p, but has to be there from at least 7a till about 6p, sometimes 6:30p. I hate that for her, I wish I could be there to pick her up at 2:30p. But that's just the way things are. You may remember my 2 brothers, Keith & Darrell. (Keith - class of '78, Darrell - '79). I just saw them this past Christmas and all was great. My parents are still alive and well and they live in Alabama now. Darrell lives in the home that we grew up in on Burks Rd. in Forest Park. He bought it from my parents after they moved. He's a granddad and just got married this year. There is a long story that explains that. Keith has a son grown and just went into the Army & a daughter that is 15. Sad, however, he is currently in the midst of a divorce. He was married a long time, I think they got married in '82. Well-folks, I hope I have not bored you to death - if you should read this, write me back and let me know.
