Denise's Story
We moved to Columbus, where we raised 3 wonderful children; I now have a "bonus child", my son-in-law (so nice to have a child without getting more stretch marks!). I did not finish my undergraduate degree as a traditional student, and went back to school at age 35 to get my degree. I went to school for 8 years, part-time, and ultimately obtained a Social Work degree. After graduating, I worked for 3 years in a domestic violence shelter...Expand for more
here in Columbus; after that, I got a job at Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities as a Service Coordinator, attempting to ensure that all the people on my caseload get the services they need. In fact, I work with Cindy Phillips! I do public speaking on domestic violence, focusing on the specific issues of people with disabilities and domestic violence. My husband and I celebrated our 32nd anniversary. I am truly blessed!
