Denise's Story
I got married in October '72 to Jay Crawford, who was TN '71. We're still married. We joined the All Volunteer Army on the buddy system in '74. We went (collectively) to Ft. McClellan Alabama, Fort Leonard Wood Missouri, Ft. Sheridan Illinois, Ft. Benning Georgia, Presidio of San Francisco, Ft. Richardson Alaska. We did our three years each, and had our daughter Christy later that year.
Chris currently works for the FBI in San Francisco, and lives in Pacifica (Fairway Park) with her greyhound, Luna. Jay joined the Oakland Police Department in 1977 which caused us to move across the bay to New...Expand for more
ark. He retired in 2003, and we're hoping to return to Pacifica soon.
I went to work in 1982 for the Newark Unified School District, taking care of their computers. I retired in 2008 when I decided that I was too old to lift servers into their racks.
Now I spend a lot of time on community theatre, photography, gardening, playing bass in a garage band, pottery, preserving the family stories/photos/video and providing tech support to my parents. Once in a while the School District gets desperate and calls me back to work for a bit. I say "yes," only if they young guys will do the heavy work!
