Denise's Story
Life
Life is pretty simple, and totally awesome. I live in a small town in Central California with my husband and son, Dylan (5/3/06).I recently adopted my younger brother, Dalton, which has made life more fun and way more challenging. We all love to travel, and have spent time South America and Central America, as well as Europe and Canada. I spend a lot of time with the other members of my family, most of whom recently moved to San Francisco. In our free time we camp, dive, bike, or just work around the house or in our garden. Honestly, we work hard, and play hard, and just try to get the most out of the here and now.
School

College
After the financially obligatory two years at SBCC, I transfered to Sonoma State ...Expand for more
University where I majored in Liberal Studies. From there to the teaching credential program and on to life. I don't really have too much to say about life in college, I just wanted to get through and on with my life. Not to say I didn't enjoy it, but it was more something I had to do before I could afford to do what I really wanted to do.
Workplace
Well, I have been teaching 4th grade since 1995. That seems like such a long time, since the students in my class this year weren't even born when I started teaching, and most of their parents are younger than I am now. But I do love it, and don't plan on a career change any time soon. Besides, what other professions allow you to have nine weeks off in the summer and five weeks off during the rest of the year?
