Denise's Story
Life
I moved to Texas July 3, 1985. Couldn't take the snow and cold anymore. My son, Daniel, just turned 17. Both he and my current husband, Robert, are native Houston-Texans. Robert and I will celebrate our 15th anniversary November 21st. The first 3 years things went pretty smoothly. Then in September 1996, I was bitten by a culex mosquito and was infected with St. Louis Encephalitis. That one insect changed my life. No more multitasking, being organized, or able to change course...Expand for more
midstream. I'm now on full disability due to an acquired brain injury from the encephalitis.
I recently lost my mother-in-law, to complications of diabetes. She has been my role model for the last 16 years. If I could have picked a mother, she would have been in the top 2.
If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the whole thing and add on a another bath and more living space. My dream home would be 5000 sq ft., minimum, at the top of a hill with a view of mountains or the ocean.
