Denise's Story
Attended Augsburg College in Minneapolis where I sang with the Concert (touring) Choir. Left after two years and two months to pursue the lucrative secretarial career I'd always dreamed of, eventually to become the Best Legal Secretary In the World. During this time, I spent ten (10) years in the U.S. Army Reserve (1972-1982) in various military specialties, including clerk, personnel clerk, recruiter, JAG NCO, and received The Army Commendation Medal for my meritorious service while working with a warrant officer in the HQ of our ARCOM where the two of us monitored Officer Evaluation Reports and reported directly to the Commander. I was at summer camp at Ft. McCoy, Wisc., in 1980 when I met a crazy buncy of reservists from a Psyops unit from Dallas, TX, who talked me into moving down to Texas. half of my life, now, and have never regretted it. I'm still single, since the love of my life, an actor I met in 1977, has stuck to his guns about being a confirmed bachelor. Besides, he's in L.A., and I'm in Big D. I live with a crazy dog named Beau who dances and entertains me to no end. I'm only working once in a while these days. Got laid off after 9/11, along with all the other older, well-paid executive assistants in the nation.
I believe I wrote most of this once before, but when I checked, it was gone! So here it is again. Hope to hear from you. Just a short note to see what's happened to you in these 40 short years.
I always wanted to be a singer when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a pipe dream. As it turns out, they were wrong. I've been singing all my life--even made money at it!
