Denise's Story

In a wonderful relationship with Sean Walker. BELOW are questions from the STORY WIZARD to make this profile more revealing about me. I provided my answers to the best of my ability. Enjoy! When I need to blow off steam, I clean house or cut the grass. I always wanted to be a stewardess when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were wrong. Glad I wasn't a stewardess on 9-11. The "wildest" thing I ever did IN school? Would have to be senior skip day, when we bought a bottle of Sangria, and a Playgirl magazine, and went to Cocina Beach and laid out all day. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have coffee, cigarettes, and music to be able to deal with the day-to-day. My hero is my deceased son, who faced so much pressure and adverse conditions in his life, but never let on that he was stressed out. He was always very laid back and just rolled with the punches. I wish I could be more like him. I've lived in Florida all my life, with only a couple of months here and there in Mississippi with my first husband. He's the only reason I moved, but I did enjoy the country laid back life up there and met some of his family and great friends. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Beth West, because she was one friend who talked me OUT of quitting school. But there are many others also. Faith Vogel, Julie Pixton, Debbie Janes, Karen Williams, all my fellow band members. I'm a HUGE animal lover. Love sports especially football and baseball. I'm obsessed with antiques, old kitchen ware, depression glass, old pyrex and fire king. Life's biggest surprise for me, was the loss of my son. Never expected that, especially the way it happened. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel outside and add on a sunroom. My dream home would be a beach home either in Jupiter Florida or in on the New England shore, Florida Keys, or North Pacific coast. I've learned that no matter how much you are in "tune" to your kids, they still have secrets. I'm STILL finding out things they've done that just make my skin crawl. The teacher I'd love to see again and why, would be Mr. Lonnie J. Keen. He was our band director, and instilled such a sense of teamwork, responsibility, encouragement and accountability that I took with me through my entire life. If I won $100 million, I'd give a huge portion of it to the church, then spend the rest on family, friends and animal rescue. To truly be happy? I'd be with Johnny Depp, living on his famous "f--k off" island, absolutely wearing....him...out! lol My current age is 49. When I was...Expand for more
12, I thought that people my age now would be considered REALLY old, or dead. I was so completely wrong. My first crush? I don't know what happened to him. He went to Temple Heights Christian School and his name was Robby Mobley. After I went back to public school I lost contact. My best friend would tell you I'm very depressed, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as hysterically funny. I feel like I wear a mask to appease people, and they have no idea how I hurt inside. I still wear jeans, in my thirties I was not only in a bikini but wore a thong (and yes, I could wear one) now that I'm a nana, I'm a tshirt, shorts, and whole piece person, especially when I work in the yard. The wierdest job I ever had? Picking squash at my sister in laws farm. Roofing with my ex husband, and once I drove a dump truck. Oh yea, and one weekend I sold hot dogs at DeSoto Dragway. I share my home with husband, son and chihuahua, which I find blissful. I don't have trophies but do have quite a few certificates and awards I've acquired from working at Bank of America. The best reward of all is having a "thank you" from your customer though. It just makes your day. If I could do one thing over what would it be? Not get married so young. I would have lived a little more, instead of going from high school to motherhood. But it's all good, I kinda got to grow up WITH my kids and they couldn't pull too much over my eyes. In 10 years, I hope to be living my life again. I'm going to get there by continued counseling due to the loss of my son. My oldest friend didn't go to school with us, her name is Stephanie Malone and I've known here for over 20 years. We were pregnant together and worked at the bank. What about me would surprise everyone at my high school reunion? Um, that I don't GO to them...lol. Seriously, probably that I'm married to a black man? That I'm a scuba diver? I have no idea. That I speak dirty spanish? My first job was at Exchange Bank, where I got paid 7,625.00 a year to input new accounts and file maintenance, and stop payments into the computer. What I remember most about it is it was easy and I was fast at it, and that there were always bums downtown taking baths in the fountain outside. A childhood memory I'll never forget? Summer vacations at Indian Rocks Beach, and going to the London Wax Museum, Webb City, and Tiki Gardens, and walking to the pier at night with a flash light. I had a great childhood. Tell people you love them every day. You never know when it's the last time you'll see them. Make it the last thing you always say.
