Denise's Story
Life
Since graduating from high school I have lived in Chico, Gonzales, Sunnyvale, Milpitas, Denver, Culbertson and McCook, Nebraska.
I have three children, two girls and one boy. I also have five grandchildren ranging in age from 10 months - 13 years old.
I am currently the office manager for MCAT/SVA a swim team here in Salinas. I also have my California Real Estate license again. I had one back in the late 70's and early 80's but let it expire. I plan to get into the mortgage business in the future. I plan to leave Salinas by the summer of 2008. I had hoped to move by the end of summer 2007 but with the real estate market the way it is, well had to alter plans.
Besides real estate I have worked in the medical field for several years. Then I worked for CTB/McGraw-Hill for six years before I came to work for the swim team.
My youngest child will be graduated from York School in Monterey this year. She is currently attending Indiana University...Expand for more
of Pennsylvania in Indiana, PA. She would like to get a bachelors in anthropology and criminology. After under-graduate she wishes to obtain a PHD in Forensic Science.
I was divorced in 1975. In 1979 I remarried and my husband passed away on June 21, 2005. He died unexpectedly from a bacterial infection that had spread throughout his body. I performed the CPR on Jim but we lost him at the hospital.
Jim and I owned our own business here in Salinas for 24 years before he passed away. I closed the business down after his death.
I have hosted 14 AFS students from different parts of the world. Was successful with hosting 13 of the students. I hosted one after my husband passed away but it just didn't work out. I hear from the majority of them from time to time. Had two come back to visit, which is always a lot of fun.
I haven't changed much since high school. Been told I still look pretty much the same.
