Denise's Story
After graduating Miami Central and the University of Florida, I married and spent five years in the newspaper business, Moved to New Jersey, then had two children and turned to writing books. During my divorce, I transitioned into producing television shows and spent the next 14 years as a producer in New York, working on nationally syndicated shows and continuing to write, including two true crime books on young killers. I met my current husband, Alan Grant, a professional singer/songwriter and marketing guru, and we started the company Words & Music, which produces broadcast products for the web, television and radio.

On Sept. 11th, I was working 4 blocks from Ground Zero and like many in Manhattan, experienced a mild PTSD. The experience motivated me to go back to graduate school to work with PTSD victims and others who had experienced trauma. I graduated from Seton Hall University with an MA in clinical counseling and ED.S., in mental health. For the last 7 years, I have run the rape crisis center in Morris County, NJ, and opened a private practice in addition to that just last year. It's truly inspiring work and I'm glad I made the switch!
I have lots of great memories of the Class of "67 and wish all my classmates only the best!
