Denise's Story
I am always hoping to be able to quit working so hard, but my mid-term objectives just keep expanding. I'd like to spend more time in nature and quit spending so much time on the computer. I get tired of intellectual work and yearn to spend more time in some physical labor (not too much, but just a few hours per day and less thinking required.) But at least I do most of my work from home, and when I look up from my computer I see a beautiful scene of the pond and pine trees on my small ranch in Central Texas. My various animals keep me amused (and busy), including donkeys, chickens, guineas, dogs and cats, not to mention the wildlife. And I have a won...Expand for more
derful husband with whom I enjoy many mutual interests.
I am happy, even if I do feel like I work nearly all the time. I have grown very conservative politically over the years, and more patriotic as well. I own my own business, and am acutely aware of how important small business is to our economic wellbeing. I have worked for the government for part of my career, and although I respect the workers, (mostly honest and good people), I would generally like to see the government curtailed. I feel it takes away the hard-earned fruits of my labor and all too frequently gives it to others who did not earn it. I think the freeloaders need a wake-up call.
