Dennis's Story
Life
After graduating from Mumford High School in 1959, I spent two years at Wayne State University and then finished my undergraduate work at Nyack College in New York where I met and married my wife, Joy. I supported us both during our senior year by working as a sportswriter for a suburban daily. Joy was a nurse.
After college we returned to Detroit for a year and a half where our daughter was born and I worked in retail management. Feeling a call to ministry I served for almost three years in Louisville, Kentucky as an assistant pastor (my degree had been in theology). Our son was born there.
In 1968, we moved to the Chicago area where I attended Trinity Evangelical Divinity School to do graduate work in Biblical studies for two years. In 1970 we moved to southern New Jersey (outside of Philadelphia) to take a church, which I pastored for 19 years. Seminary (now Palmer Seminary) in Philadelphia and also did clinical training in marriage and family counseling. I was eventually licensed as a marriage and family counselor which I have been doing part-time for 25 years.
In 1989, I was asked to teach at Alliance Theological Seminary in New York which I did for five and a half years. In 1995 some businessmen and I started
Integrity Ministries, which serves men in the business and professional community and I continue to direct this ministry today, which also has a branch in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I also continue to so some adjunct teaching in a graduate program in counseling. My wife died in early 1992 and a remarried in late 1994 to my current wife, Charlotte (also widowed) who had two grown children of her own. She is a retired school teacher.
Between us we have 15 grandchildren who keep us very busy. Our life is very full and gratifying with work, family, friends and church.
