Dennis Brewer:

CLASS OF 1968
Hayward, CA

Dennis's Story

Attended UC Berkeley from 1968 to 1972. Graduated with a degree in Political Science. Started working as a claims adjuster. Attended law school at night while working full time during the day. Attended San Francisco Law School; graduated in 1979 and became a member of the Bar in 1980. Became a partner in a large law firm, left that for another firm, and then started my own practice in 1996. I am still practicing. I specialize in representing uninsured employers in workers compensation cases. I also handle personal injury cases. My greatest passion in life has been and continues to be sailing. I started sailing while a student at Cal in 1970 and bought my first sailboat in 1977. I was an avid racer and was class champion in that boat twice. Although I haven't been able to do much sailing in the last several years, I am getting my "newest" boat back in shape and will be ...Expand for more
sailing again soon. I have a 1929 wooden Bird Class sailboat. The Bird Class was designed in 1920 specifically for San Francisco Bay and is the oldest one design racing class on the west coast of the US. We are going to have a 100 year celebration this year. I also love my animals, two dogs and a horse and I spend as much time as I can with them each day. I plan on retiring soon and will have more time to spend with them. Animals are genuine and do not deceive. I have great appreciation, respect and love for them. Its a gift for a person to get to know an animal and appreciate the fact they have a personality and emotions, and can communicate in their own way. We only need to observe and be receptive to what they are trying to communicate. If you show an animal love and affection, you will be rewarded by the bond they form with you; in some species more than others.
