Dennis's Story
Well forty yrs where do you begin. After Grad I spent my first summer traveling,my friend David Meade and I drove to New York in my 66 Mustang, yep Route 66 all the way. Quite an experience and a few tickets along the way.Was strange to see some of the states in the mid west, but we were anxious to see the Big Apple and find out what all the Hoopla was about.gas was 39 cents a gallon and you could still get fast food for under a dollar including a cold soda. We didn't spend much money on hotels, lots of sleeping in the car and sleeping bags. Then we left New York and took the southern route stopping in Chicago, then headed to Fla, and down south. That was an experience in its self, not anything like our western roots, no beaches, no surfing, and we felt quite out of place.Once back in Ca it was time to buckle down and see what the future held for me. ity, and then moved to Venice Beach which was one of the happening places of the time. Then to UCLA in the early 70's and finally to Pepperdine. In 1973 I married Angel Hart a fellow classmate of Carson in 1970. We moved to Orange County and after five yrs had our first kid, then came two more in the 80's. We were married for 15 yrs both working for IBM. Nineties came and I moved to San Diego for a few yrs, then to NY till 2007, went into teaching there, and taught at NYU for 9 yrs. Came back to Ca in 2007 to be close to my kids. Did lots of traveling in my life, Europe, Alaska, Bahamas, Figi, Tahiti, Hawaii a few times and in 2008 summer went to Greece with fellow college buds. Now I am back here and continuing to teach until I retire in a few years. I have been to every reunion and loved them all, its been so great to see fellow classmates and will continue as long as life permits as they say. There ha been much more in the past forty yrs but thats for another time lol.
