or 23 labs, got involved with Process Safety Management and moved into the Safety arena. I got my certification as a safety professional and ended my work as a safety advisor/manager and coordinator of the Safety Management Program at the Akron Site. I finally retired the end of 2008. Am now a Safety Health and Environmental Consultant. I specialize in implementation of SH&E management programs, and offer general support for all SH&E needs from incident investigations to managing workers comp costs and personnel safety focus programs. In between all of that My wife and I and the kids when they could, have traveled all over the US. Our favorites were the Rockies, Mesa Verde, West Texas (Big Bend and Davis Mountains), Carlsbad and any other caves we went passed along the way, the Grand Canyon, Alaska, and our most recent, Mount Rushmore. We've got a lot more to see! OK I finally subscribed to classmates since we were coming up on a class reunion last yearin 2011. The 40th WOW!! I thought I'd be dead by now when I was in HS. Hell, I wasn't sure I'd make another year back then. I was going to South East Asia until Nixon pulled out of Nam a month before our tech school was done. I went to Europe instead, what a deal. Am now working on our family geneology and finding that I am related to a lot more people in La Crosse than I ever dreamed of. Our Norwegian ancestors came here to the Wesby area back in the 1850's so besides Halverson we have Elstad, Anderson, Peterson, Samb, Semb, Melby, Hansen, Kittleson, Hembd, Kolbo, Hammond, Chase and may other names as part of our family tree.
