Dennis's Story
Life
I live in the small town of Rio Vista in the heart of the Sacramento Delta, I have two sons. One is 37 and lives in San Jose, the younger one is 17. I took a slight twenty year kid break so... At this pace I'll be due for the next one in the year 2020!
I had worked in the plastic industry since 73" but in the year 2007 after 34 years I had my fill, call it burn out or whatever, I was just tired of all the constant B.S. the mfg. industry had to offer.
I then enrolled into truck driving school looking to do something 100% different than what I was doing. Since then I've worked for a large transportation company and have been to all the continental 48 states. I saw more in my first 6 months than I had previously seen in all my previous years put together.
Being on the road for long periods of time was taking its toll on my young son so I made the decision to work local. I then worked for a local company driving food grade pneumatic and liquid tankers hauling oils, chocolate, sugar, oats, malt, plastic, etc... and was happy to say that I was able to spend more time at home. Everything was going well until 2013 when my back decided it had enough wear 'N' tear and abuse from some crazy years and hard work. A...Expand for more
fter two surgeries I was forced out of the workforce into an early retirement. It's ok but I wasn't quite ready mentally or financially. Everything always has a way to work itself out. Life is good!
In my spare time I loved to ride my motorcycle's and enjoy two wheeled adventures, either solo or with friends but unfortunately good o'le Mr. Back let me know it was time to hang up my riding gear and sell my dear friends (Bikes). But I wasn't going to give up that easy so I traded two wheels for eight wheels. I bought a travel trailer which is a bit slower and not able to carve out twisty mountain roads but there is a lot to say about having all the comforts of home out on the road with you.
Update 2017: Once again Mr. Back , again, rears his pesky self so I needed to sell the travel trailer but I will not give up that easy. I bought a mobile home to take it's place. Just turn the key and go. Ya gotta love it! Hahaha!
So once again... The adventure continues, more up ahead... I hope!!!
I wish I could remember more people I went to school with but I guess it's because of the lifestyle back in those good ole daze. But I will always remember the ones I was close to forever... where ever you are.
God Bless.
