Dennis's Story
After Graduation I had a short lived vacation at the beaches of Newport and Huntington Thought I was going to be a surfer however got really tired chasing my big heavy board into shore. Enrolled for classes at Compton College and played first string on the football team for 2 years my win lose average was 1 win and to many loses. while at Compton College I pleaded a Fraternity known as the KE's (Kappa Epsilon) The conflict in Southeast Asia was in full motion, so I joined the USAF April Fool's day 1966. Went to Basic at Amorello AFB Texas after graduating I was sent to Vandenburg AFB in Santa Barbara CA. While at Vandenberg AFB I became a Marksmanship instructor. While in this Jo...Expand for more
b field I tried out for the 1966 Olympics in Mexico in the sport of Trap. I was a runner up so I stayed at home. Next up was various Job types after discharge. And then I applied for a job as a Police Officer for the City of Compton for 8 years for which I received several accommodations one being the highest award honored by the Red Cross to life saving removing 2 people from a burning house and performing CPR to both Mother and Daughter. From there, I went to the city of Huntington Beach for 24 more years and due to several injuries, I retired in January of 2003. I was blessed with 2 Daughters. and now live in the City of Seal Beach Ca.
And that's my story and I'm sticking to it
