Denver's Story

Life Well it's 2020 and time for an update. I am retired now. I am still married to Earl the Texan. I have 1 bio child a son, Shelby that is my pride and joy. Unfortunately he has health issues but has a loving and caring spirit despite his issues. My son and his wife are the heroes of our family. They care for my 87 year-old mother that has dementia. She can be a handful but he is the only one that can care for her. Dad passed away in Jan, 2009. I have 2 step kids. David lives in Texas. Lisa lives with us. Shelby may be the hero but our bright shining star is our 22 month old granddaughter, Xena. I am her GMa and Earl is her GPa. We love her to pieces. In late 2018 I was diagnosed with 2 lung diseases and heart disease. That's the more major stuff but no need to bore you with those details. I do not take meds for them. That's the good part. I am on continuous O2 that is a pain! I have been sheltering in pla...Expand for more
ce and doing ok with it since I have Xena to play with. It's like being a kid again. Lisa and Earl help me out a lot because about the only thing I deal with most days is lack of energy. I have a great family, great doc and I am still above ground just as feisty and out spoken as ever (the shyness wore off in my mid 20's when I worked at St. Anthony Hospital North). Earl is set to retire in 3 years. We plan to move to West Texas where the altitude is lower and I may not need O2. Now that would be nice. I will never be able to come back home to Northglenn again and will miss my son and daughter in law terribly but that's the way life goes. So that's my life now. Not exciting and no more traveling but a whole lotta fun with the baby. Now so sure about the Class Reunion. Probably not for me. Hope all of you are doing well.
