Desiree's Story
My life has sure changed since writing my story several years ago. I have been a widow for 4 years now and I am working through the many challenges that come with that role. I have 11 grandchildren and soon to be 12. My oldest granddaughter just graduated from college. I am in the process of making home repairs and hoping to sell my house and down size. Trying to down size has become my full time job right now. It really is amazing and a little overwhelming, to see the accumulation of "stuff" that results in living in one house for 35 years. My life is ever changing and I guess that's a good thing. Some changes are good and some not so good, but life is never dull or boring, just another adventure.
37 years ago I drove cross country to move to a small town 50 miles south west of Chicago. My husband and I have ...Expand for more
raised 4 children and have been blessed with 10 grandchildren. For the past 20 plus years, I have worked in health care. From clinical care to medical billing and now for the past 4 years, as the office manager for an Ob/Gyn. That's a far distance from my original intention of music teacher. I continue to take classes in different interests, but with no degree in mind. I enjoy learning new things where I can explore my creative nature. Alot of my spare time is spent attending various events my grandchildren are involved in. Whenever I can, I do enjoy spending time out side gardening, going to the woods nearby or short trips out of town to take more pictures. Though I rarely get back to California, it's never far from my thoughts. You can take the girl out of California but not California out of the girl.
