Carol's Story
Life
After 35 plus years with the federal government, I retired from the Naval Inventory Control Point, Mechanicsburg, as a Supply Systems Analyst. I am very much enjoying my retirement. A lot of time is spent running my mother to appointments, shopping, errands, etc. (one of the reasons I retired).
I have two children, John (JD) and Tamara (Tammy) and two adorable granddaughters, Victoria (age 17) and Erica (age 13). They are the daughters of Tammy. Victoria is a senior this year and planning on attending college. She is estatic in that all colleges she applied for, she was accepted. She is a cheerleader at Northern York Co. High school. She has cheered for eleven years. This year she tried out and was selected as a BIG 33 cheerleader. Erica is our softball player. She has played soccer but decided softball is more her thing.
I also have a lot of cats that I consider part of my family and bring a lot of enjoyment into my life. I also care for approx 10 to 15 "free roaming/stray" cats that stay at or visit my house. I love gardening; I didn't plant a vegetable ...Expand for more
garden since the sunflowers and other type flowers decided to take over my garden. The mass of sunflowers was absolutely beautiful. I love to watch the birds especially the gold finches on the flowers. I also have a wide variety of flower beds and potted flowers and plants. I have different type bird feeders and bird baths since I love to watch the birds. With my busy schedule though I wish I had more time to watch the birds. I also have a countless number of free roaming/stray cats that I am feeding. It is so unfortunate for the many animals that are abandoned.
I still find time to enjoy my family and spend as much time with them as I possibly can; especially my granddaughters because someday they will be saying "grandma who?" We also try to get in at least a week plus several weekends of camping. The girls love to ride the 4-wheeler, golf cart, and go cart. Victoria and I both enjoy reading so we try to find a spare moment for a good book, magazine, or the newspaper. I can only say I am never, never, bored. Like many, I wish there were more hours in the day.
