I have recently touched base with an old friend who is currently involved in a similar process: posting his "story" on the internet in preparation for a high school reunion. "I have to tell them something about myself," I agonized. "Do you have any advice?" "Forget about the 'story', he replied. "There is always something of the whimsical, the exaggeration, the need to expound, to ponder, to explain when one attempts to 'tell their story'...why don't you do something that I like to think I invented? I call it a 'micro-biography.' It will 'break the ice' and reintroduce you to a community of people you were never really properly introduced to in the first place." "Oh," I said. So here is my attempt at my micro-biography: At the present time, I am living with my husband of 14 years (together for 19; a graduate of Performing Arts HS, class of '74) in a beach house in Flagler Beach, Florida. As I write this, the growling motors of several motorcycles are pulling out of the driveway just outside my door. This weekend marks the beginning of "Bike Week," an event that this beach community painstakingly prepares for each year.
