Diana's Story
After high school, I went to Midwestern for 2 years but decided to work at an independent oil producer's office. In 1968, I met my husband Charles Powell on a blind date. We married in 1969, moved to Dennison, TX where he was stationed in the Air Force. When he got out of the Air Force in January of 1970, we moved to Oklahoma City where he had an engineering job waiting for him at Tinker Air Force Base. n 1984 and went to work for the Federal Deposit Insurance Agency the following fall. Since then i have worked in several banks in the Trust departments. After losing my job in 2008, I decided to retire and work part time for EMSA as an Assistant to the Grants Manager. This gives me more time to spend with my daughters and their families. I now have 5 grandchildren - 3 boys and 2 girls ranging in age from 18 years to 20 months.
Charles and I still reside in Oklahoma City and soon will be celebrating our 47th wedding anniversary. Not bad for a blind date.
