Diana's Story
I am not sure really how my classmates would descrisbe me. I am always the same, Not moody or overly excited. I lean towards doing the right thing. I don't remember ever having an enemy in school or otherwise. I really missed high school after I graduated. I left for Springfield right after and worked for the Secretary of State of Illinois. I worked in Accounting and Budget. I was there until I went to work at the Owens Illinois Glass Company in Alton , got married to Randy Wagoner and we divorced ,(We are still good friends by the way). I then went to work at Hutchinsons Foundary in Alton for a few years. I then went to St. Louis to work at McDonnell Douglas ,where I retired from in 1992. I married R. Kent Franklin in 1979, and he had two children which we have four grandchildren from. We lived in Alton until 2001. We went to Nebo, Ill. and remodeled Kent's old home place. Then we Renovated a Building in Nebo that his ancestors built that were stone masons. We also bought a Farm just outside of Nebo, where we raised some cattle, and sheep. We got bored I guess Ha!, so we bought a house in Las Vegas, remodeled it and that is where we are currently spending most of our time. Kents son lives in Las Vegas, and his daughter lives in St. George, Utah, just 2 hrs. away. We go hom...Expand for more
e to Nebo about 2 to 3 times a year. I would never have imagined that I would have had all the opportunities that I have experienced. I have been a very lucky person I would say. I have rubbed elbows with George & Barbra Bush( We got to sit in their private box at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.to watch a Performance while we were there atttending the Enaugural Ball), Smothers Brothers,George Forman(which I got a BIG Hug from),Jeff Gordon, Hubert H. Humphry, Jessie Jackson, Some of the Kennedy's. I also got ride around the Las Vegas Race Track at 172 miles per hour. I have had the fortune to work on and build, things that are in outer space, Harpoon & Tomahawk Missles, The F15 and F18 Fighter Jets, I even repaired a wing for the Blue Angels. I am currently working on another quilt, it is all hand sewn (May sound boring to you, but it is actually lots of fun and work) I try and walk 2 miles every morning. I still jump on the trampolene with the G-children, and ride 4-wheelers in the sand dunes in Oregon every year. I have a fabulous husband, and super Step children and awsome grandchildren. I don't think I could be any luckier, and I am thankful every day for all my blessings. Thats my story and I'm sticking to it. HA! (Now let me hear about you all so we can get caught up)
