Diane's Story

Life My husband, Everett and I will be celebrating 52 years of marriage in April of 2016. Where has the time gone? We have three daughters. The oldest daughter (Sandra) works for the Court System in Oakland Co.,and now retired, our middle daughter (Dayna) is an English teacher at Canton High School, and head of teachers, and works with PAX in placing foreign exchange students as well as taking one in from Germany and one from Korea, and our youngest (Nicole) works as a ITT Analyst in Lapeer area, works part-time at Palace and goes to U of M and will graduate in April of 2016, She has already signed up to continue her schooling to get her Masters, and still raising three children. Our first born Grandson graduated from Goodrich High School June of 2007,and recently joined the Army Reserves. He recently was married, so adding to the family. Second Grandson graduated from Goodrich High School and now is attending Oakland while working two part-time jobs. He wants to transfer to U of M as soon as his basic classes are done. Now he has moved to N.C. with parents but still working two jobs. Our first born Grand-daughter graduated from Churchill High in Livonia and went to Anderson U. in Indiana. She has enjoyed college life and adapted well. Graduated with Ass. and now she has joined the Navy. She is going to school at Great Lakes and after 2 yrs. will be shipping out. Not sure I am ready for that. Another Grandson was in Marching Band, which he Loved, and went to College for couple years. He is blessing up with a Great-Grandson in March of 2016. This will be our first. He is a gamer also so should be interesting how he brings his Son up. He also like golf and reading and of all things skeet shooting which I had no idea about. Our youngest Grandson, which is now going on 17, been awhile since I updated, has turned out to be a natural football player. Any position he is put in he handles. He was voted by his team when he was 11, as MVP (Most Valuable Player) for those of you that don't know very much about football. He was given a special trophy for MVP as well as a trophy that all the boys receive just for playing. We are Very Proud of all our Grand-children, but now we are focusing on Nick, as he is the one coming into his own at the moment. We think it is fantastic that he has found his niche in life so early. He has the TRUE LOVE of the gam...Expand for more
e besides knowing all the plays for his team. Maybe he will be a coach one day. Watch out for Lapeer as they have won two straight years in a row. Also, we never thought we would ever be one of those people up in the stands watching a game in the windy, cold, and I mean pouring rain and Loving every min. of it. We just Pray that he gets through this without any serious injuries. He also likes wrestling and basketball. His sister is playing soccer but at the age of 9, not sure where that will be going. She is teen now and the soccer has stopped although she still likes to go to the games and watch. She is in 7th grade taking advance classes so still has time to get back into sports before she gets out of school. Another Grandson is going to graduate in Computer Science in three years instead of four as he took several college classes while still in High School. We are proud of him and he is a gamer also. He is going to Korea, paid by his college, to learn some computer designs. He is excited about that trip and I of course will be glad to hear that he arrived safe and extra glad that he arrives home safe. That's what Mom's and Grandma's do (Worry alot) lol. Our twin Grand-daughters graduated from High School and have moved with their parents to N.C., so busy finding jobs and the rule down there is you have to live in that State for a year before you can go to college so they will hopefully be doing that when the year is up. Things change in a year so who knows what will happen. Husband retired back in 92 and I Semi Retired in 2011 so work in the summers only. Glad to not be on the roads in the winters any more. We ride our Harley as often as possible, when this Michigan weather permits. We don't ride in the rain, so guess that means we aren't die hard bikers,if you know what I mean. The Harley riding has come to a halt as my Husband has lost some of his eye sight so trying to get that taken care of ,so for right now poor Harley is covered and in the garage. Miss hearing the roar of the engine! We would Love to travel, but, until the three youngest Grandchildren get a few years older, we are pretty tied up staying in Michigan. Now I have hurt my right knee and fell a couple years ago on ice and messed up my neck and left arm and leg, so I may be taking those vacations in a wheel chair by then. (Just kidding, but you never know) All for now!
