Diane's Story
I remember Reavis days as if they were yesterday. Linda Oschman was so darn smart & we always teased Charlie Bartsch & Ruth Gibson that they'd both be married to each other some day. I remember Mr. Bloom, the art class instructor, that all the girls swooned over & everyone tried to fix him up with Miss Vahl, the gym teacher! I remember when Ronny North smiled in English class, that the wind seemed to be blowing through his hair & his great smile melted all the girls hearts, mine included! I remember Mr. Parmley as the only teacher who made me feel like I could actually do something important some day, with the writing I did in his class. I remember being really shy in school, but thanks to such great friends as Darlene Bonano, Gertrude Rosecranz, JoAnn Ehman, & Gloria Berkowicz, I...Expand for more
was somehow able to survive. I remember Norbert Diaz calling in sick for me (from the school lobby pay phone!) & ditching class a lot to be with my wild & crazy boyfriend, Donny Deutscher, whom I have been married to for over 40 years! Who would have ever guessed that!
And I remember Joe Keslin & Vic Tyeptanar & Ronnie Dore as Donny's good friends, along with a lot of adventures too crazy to talk about! I remember being called a "greaser", while my twin Dennis was the "collegiate", one of the most popular boys in school, which he truly deserved being. And I remember how exciting it was to graduate & go out in the real world, as prepared as I would ever be. Thanks to all for so many great & wonderful memories! I hope everyone went after their dreams & that some actually lived them!
