Diane's Story
Well, 2008 hasn't been the best year for me. On April 29 my husband suffered a massive stroke while on business up in Michigan. I flew up the same day to be with him, not knowing that because of the extent of the stroke and the surgery that would be required to save his life, I would be staying there for almost four months. Needless to say, this has been an ordeal, but we're back home in Florida now. I'm so thankful for my neighbors who fed and cared for my cat (she prefers them to me now) and for all our friends who prayed and sent cards while we were stuck in Michigan. We met ...Expand for more
some wonderful people there and Jeff's care was excellent, but it's so good to be home and to be able to see the grandchildren again.
Jeff is now in outpatient therapy and we're learning to cope with the disabilities that resulted from the stroke. It's been a hard road, but one that we've traveled successfully by God's grace.
We celebrate our 25th anniversary in December. It's hard to believe how quickly the years have passed. We've had a lot of fun in our marriage and, although the trips to Italy and France are probably at an end, hopefully 2009 will be a better year for us.
