Diane's Story

I have moved again - this time to be closer to my children. I live alone and like it. My schools include Courtenay High School. I later attended University of Victoria. I have lived in several towns between Vancouver Island and Sakatchewan. Met lots of great people, worked in many jobs and now want to come home to the Island. I work for the Chamber of Commerce currently in Morinville, Alberta. I have travelled the world for business and for Rotary.. My husband died 16 months ago so my place is very quiet - just me and my cat. I am really hoping to retire soon and then make a decision about my next step. Is it hard to be retired? Diane's interests are reading, volunteering and working. I love to travel and have travelled a lot around the world. This April (2015) I visited China. What a great country!. Retirement is a long way off for me but I am okay with that. I am a Rot...Expand for more
arian and belong to Beta Sigma Phi. I keep busy. I have 4 married children and they have 9 children collectively. It is great seeing them more often. One day I want to return to Comox but until that day I will remain in Alberta. Like a salmon I must swin upstream and home. 50 years since High School Graduation!!! I do not feel that old but also know it is time to return home. So much has happened since 1966 and now I would like to relax and become self employed again doing what I love to do. Publishing! Not sure what I will publish but I need to have something to do that will keep money coming in and keep my interest level high. I still have 30 years to go and those have to be interesting!!! I was widowed late May, 2017 and it is so strange to be completely alone now. My 4 children, significant others and 9 grandchildren are very busy with their lives. Thank God I still work.
