Diane's Story
I started at Spring Creek in 7th grade the first year it opened. After Spring Creek, I went to Southern Wayne High. I was supposed to be in the class of 1985, but spent the last quarter of my junior year at Goldsboro High before I quit school to get married. Yep, I FINISHED 11th GRADE then quit! I had my son in Sept. 1985, shortly after my 1st wedding anniversary. I left his dad in 1987 and went through WCC High School diploma program. I only needed 2 credits to get my diploma, so I graduated in December 1987. I got divorced in 1989, spent 5 years on my own raising my son, then met and married James Kelley, who has spent the last 19 years hap...Expand for more
pily (or so he says) spoiling me. My son married 7 years ago and gave me 3 beautiful grandkids-a 6 yo girl and twin 4 yo boys. I received a AAS in Accounting in 2000, was hired by the library here in Goldsboro and i've been here ever since. I guess I'll never be invited to a high school reunion since I didn't graduate with my class at Southern Wayne, but most of the classmates I went to school with since kindergarten graduated there in 1985, the same time I would have had I not dropped out. I didn't have much of a connection with the majority of my classmates, but there was a history. Hope grown-up life was everything you hoped it would be! (:
