Diane's Story
Life
Wow... It's been 30 years! I've spent the last 25 of them working as a Special Education teacher in the West Babylon School District. As in high school, through work I've met many people I enjoy spending time with, and a few lifelong friends... 'Good times, and bad. By the way, I still keep in touch with some of Commack South's most colorful personalities- Barbara (Behrens) and Bill Burns, Denise (Gramigna) Jalicki, Pete and Jean Sabia, Bill Forte, Steve Hawkins, Jeff Duff, and Ricky (Frederick) Behrens, just to name a few. Of course, Steve and Jean (Sidnam) Wolff have long ago become both family and friends! Tom and I celebrated our 20th anniversary last summer. Tom Jr. is now attending his senior year at Centereach HS, and Allie is now a junior there. They've confirmed to me the expression, 'Raising teenagers is like nailing Jell-O to a tree!" e... 'Just like that! I sing discreetly while cleaning my house and commuting to work. So I guess 'Uncle Tony' was right afterall. So much for a career in music! But nothing really changes. I'm still happiest on a boat, or lounging on the South shore beaches, with a good book and a CD player. Tom always keeps his fishing gear as a staple in his car during the summer months. So maybe we'll see you there! 'Hope so.
