Diane's Story
We won't discuss the number of marriages, okay? I'm on my last one, now, to the guy I should have married in the first place: Julian Polk Stuart Smith III. It's a long story.
I have four gorgeous and brilliant kids, all grown and doing well. Shauna (my oldest) is happily married to a wonderful guy and works in an administrative capacity at the hospital at Ohio State University. She is the mom of our first grandson, Evan. Jonathan is teaching laser art and holography at Ohio State. Cyndi is married to an Army vet, and is an audiologist working at a VA hospital. She gave birth to our second grandchild in May 2007. to our pleas to move in with us. We are enjoying their presence in our home more than we can say.
Julian also has two wonderful kids. Kennon is another Dr. Smith, but has moved into industry rather than following his dad into academia. He is married to one of the most lovely people I know. Meghan, who was a drama major, has found her true calling as an elementary school teacher.
We also share our home with two parrots, two cats, and a Chesapeake Bay Retriever.
Julian's career has taken us to many, many places. We have visited several foreign countries (I'll count them later), and lived in Austria, Belgium, and Switzerland. As one born with wanderlust, it has been heaven.
And Julian and I are blissfully happy together.
