Diane's Story

Life A 2005 update: I'm still here in Florida-in spite of those 2004 hurricanes- and now run an online business from the 'comfort of home'. I find that I do not miss 'corporate America' at all, and enjoy the freedoms of running my own e-tail site. Thanks to Classmates.com I have been able to get back in touch with the friends I'd lost contact with, and it continues to be wonderful, funny and touching. In some cases, it's as if all the years have melted away and we're as crazy as ever. Most importantly, I've learned that it's never too late to heal, or to resolve decades-old misunderstandings. I also think those reconnections are a great way to 'torture' your kids--they suddenly realize that you really HAVE tried all that stuff' before--and were just as unsuccessful as they have been! . Mike overheard us approach the person we intended to ask-and jumped in to volunteer. We hesitated, because neither of us knew him, or really liked his grumpy persona. I'm really glad we decided to keep him after all. He isn't quite so grumpy these days, and he enjoys the time with my EMHS friends almost as much as I do! My Kids My son just turned 11, and is the artistic one of the family. he's also an excellent juggler. My 21 year old daughter is on her university's president's list, and unlike her mother, has really concentrated on her education! She is currently attending school in Florida and continues to excel, again unlike her mother. My Job I spend a lot of time on my laptop, but I love running an e-tail biz from home. I love the freedom of being able to take time off to just have fun. Of course, it's tough to blame the boss for all your 'stuff' when the boss is 'you know who!'
