Diane Bezeau:  

I was born in Toledo, Ohio and attended Washington Public Schools until fall 1962. We moved to Monroe in 1962 where my parents built a house on N. Custer Road. I didn't know anyone most of my sophomore year except those I had classes with or lunch hour with. I met my husband in band class. I married him (Larry Bezeau) January 1969 while he was a sophomore at Eastern Michigan University where he was working on his teaching degree. I attended Cleary Business College and graduated in June 1966. I began working full time as a secretary. We had our first son in January 1971. Larry had graduated in December 1970 and didn't tell me he had a draft notice after graduation. His mom was having surgery and I was pregnant at the time so he waited awhile. He was substitute teaching so he was extended until September 1971. Our son was 9 months old when Larry reported for basic training. Our second son was born in July 1972 at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana and Larry received orders to report to Germany in January 1973. We lived in Wurtzburg, Germany until June 1974 when Larry's military obligation was over. We moved back to Monroe where we bought a house in 1974 and have been there ever since.
