Diane's Story
After high school worked full time and went to college. Had a little girl then married (yes, I did it in reverse). Put husband through Cal Poly Enginering School. Worked some more then returned to college (San Diego University) and obtained a teaching credential. Back packed to Europe for three months (went a lone and I think it made a great trip-visited eight countries). Taught school until I just didn't like making it my entire life. Divorced, went to work as a psychiatric technician. Took every promotion that was available. Ran a unit of developmentally disabled individuals and developed and ran a training center. Travel to various states in Mexico, went out with friends dancing,. Lived with Harry for twenty five years then marrried for insurance purposes (at least I was honest about it). Retired and moved to Buck's County Pa. (I do not fit right in with my Amish neighbors).
Forgot to mention my daughter graduated as a pediatric physical therapist!
I started sky diving recently and do it whenever I can afford it.
My daughter married a Hawaiian and I have been in Ca. for the last year home schooling her boys.
Spend time both in Ca and Pa.. Like both coasts but Ca. will always be home. Love the ocean, painting and creating something I first im...Expand for more
agine then make, reading, foreign films, traveling when I can, upcycling clothing (and I do it by hand even though I have 2 sewing machine that I do not use because I am not home long enough to take the downloaded sewing lessons and I CANNOT BELIEVE AFTER 50 YEARS SINCE I LAST TOUCHED A SEWING MACHINE THEY DO NOT THREAD THEMSELVES. My last memory of sewing was in home ed (which I hated) when I sewed my finger to the dress I was assigned to make.
From the first and last time I wrote in STORY I have did home care to a very cranky father-in-law for three years and up to present caring for mother-in -law who has cardiac disease ( who was arrested and sent to Auschwitz and weighed 70 pounds when the camp was liberate then four years in a german relocation camp before immigratimg to the U.S) and now back helping my daughter with four children-all of which appeared in the last four years:). I still get fun in because I think it is essential to a balanced life. My ocean swimming is at night now and it scares me everytime but once in the water I forget about everything and feel totally in touch with nature. I also dance in the moonlight, much to my husbands disgust, just because I love to.
Getting older does not have to be bad, it is all how you look at it:)
