Diane's Story
Still living in Santa Paula after all these years but we do occasionally "get out of Dodge"! Just returned from our third trip to Hawaii and we're still living on Maui time!
A little bit about the past......
After graduating early (Jan. 1971), I attended Ventura and Moorpark Colleges, studying Early Childhood Education (I love kids!) but left school to marry Ricardo Alaniz in July of 1972 and obtained my Real Estate license in 1978. We have two children, Jennifer Susanne, 35, and Elias Michael, 34. After 18 years of marriage, Rich and I divorced in 1991. That same year, I married Scott McKeen and we've been going strong ever since! I am "Mama Di" to Scott's two boys, my stepsons Mychal Scott, 29, and Grant Wesley, 28. Scott and I now have six grandchildren, ranging from 1 year to 16 years in age.
After 30 years in the Real Estate/Title Insurance industry, I have been "forced" into an early retirement, given the nature of the housing market today....jobs in my field are "slim pickins"! No complaints yet, since I get to spend plenty of time with the grandkids but I am looking for some sort of part-time work to stay busy and help pay the bills.

cott works for the City of Santa Paula and enjoys his work. We love living close to the kids and grandkids (they all still live here in the Santa Paula area) and enjoy our family get-togethers. My parents moved here several years ago from Northern California and are enjoying their retirement in Rancho Santa Paula Mobile Estates.
Life is good and each day is an adventure!
Fast forward to July, 2021. As many of you know, I lost the love of my life on February 5th of this year. Scott passed away suddenly at our home after less than two months of a much deserved retirement. He was here then gone, no health conditions, looking forward to our 30th anniversary on the 14th and adding to our TO DO bucket list daily. His wings were ready but our hearts were not. Thankful he did not suffer at all but, as you can imagine, his passing left a huge void in the lives of all of us who knew and loved him. We move on with our sweet memories of a life well lived but over WAY too soon. Rest In Peace, my Funny Valentine. Until we meet again, beyond the sunset <3.
