Diane's Story

Was married mid term Senior year. We lived in San Bernardino four years before we went abroad. We had three children who have had 16 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. We lived all over Europe for eight years before returning to stateside in 84. We lived in Texas for 2 and 1/2 years before being moved to DC. We retired in 92 from Washington DC and continued to live on the East Coast. I went back to school and have completed my Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice Juvenile Court System. I completed my Degree at the old age of 55 years young. I was over halfway thru the completion of my Masters Degree in Social Services when my husband took sick. I took a leave of absence with 7 classes needed to complete my Masters. After my spouse passed away I withdrew. I and my two girls and their families continue to live on the East Coast. Our son stayed in Oklahoma. For him that was home. I became a widow after 38 years and 33 days of marriage. We lost the love of my life my soul mate January 2013. This was home for just over 22 years after Retirement from the US Air Force in 1992 and continues to be. There is much History to be seen and learned on the East Coast as there was traveling throughout Europe. We put down roots and made this our home. We have a lot of family time memories here. To go anywhere else would be tough on my family. I have recently moved further into Md. I hope to maintain this home for the rest of my life. I now live on the Eastern Shore it is without a doubt very countrified and quiet. All u hear is the birds the bees and many bugs and wildlife. I have deer raccoons skunks foxes and gosh only knows what else. I plan to explore this weekend. I have a creek bed on the property and am excited about being able to go out into the woods hiking. We have been here a year now my daughter son and law a...Expand for more
nd grandkids. Kids say I am amazing I have become a friend to the deer! I feed 6 - 7 deer daily. Yes I have named them all. No not dasher dancer pranced etc. we have Timmie Cupcake Buttercup Angel Tommie Susie Q and you guessed it Bambi. The last three are a set of triplets born this past spring. I walk out back and call out to them and they stay right near by while I fill the feeders for them. They don't run and scatter or panic like in the beginning. It's now been nine years since the love of my life passed away. We are trying to move on some days are better than others. Live life to the fullest enjoy your family and your significant other. To lose them too soon is hard. Lots of unanswered questions went with him. I miss him every day and encourage the grandkids and our adult children to talk about him our life together and his death. As a counselor it helps to talk these things out. As a mom and grandma I would feel the same way. I look forward to hearing from friends. That helps me to know I have friends out there. Life goes on. It's been nearly nine years since my spouse passed away from cancer. Since then I we have had three great grands sons and one great granddaughter. My our grandchildren range from 14 months old to almost 26 years old. I have recently started drawing and painting again. I'm crocheting winter beanies before the cold weather sets in. I do a lot of reading crocheting sewing latch rug kits diamond painting my one my new favorite thongs to do. I do a lot of counted cross stitch projects and many more things to stay occupied. On the. long notes in cant sleep I pull out a craft project to relax. Not excited about cold weather. I choose to stay on the east coast. I miss California. Anyone out there who wants to drop a line or two I would love to hear from you. Take care Diane Wilson Thompson
