Diane's Story

As of Sept. 2008 Hi - lets see......Been married to Dave for 17 years. I've known him for 19. We met at a friends party. A blind date. I didn't want to go...because he was only 20! But a right before that I was at a psychic fair and the psychic told me that I was going to be set up and that I was going to have reservations, but I should go anyway. And the rest is history! We have two great boys. Dillon who is 14 and in 9th grade And Dalton who is 13 and in 7th grade. Dillon is my country boy. He listens to country music, is into the FFA, is a great writer(which is something I wish he would pursue), and this year we decided to let him raise a pig for his Ag. project! Oh Boy! Dalton is my daredevil. He skateboards and loves to do tricks on his bike. He just started playing the trumpet in band and he is my "mini-me". Right down to the mole below his lip. Dave is an O.T.R. truck driver. He drives a car carrier and travels all over the Country. He has been driving for about 8 years. Its kind of a family thing...his father is a driver too. I use to work for JCPenney...I worked there for about 23 years...from stock replenishment when I started to the accounting office handling the days receipts; then when they downsized, I went into the display dept.(which I loved). I spent my last years as a receiptionist in their Salon. It was a great time and I had a lot of good friends that I miss a lot. We moved from Sunrise to Homeland 3 years ago to be closer...Expand for more
to my husbands' job and then the Company moved to northern PA! Homeland, FL.....it's a small town in West Central Florida - 50 mi. from Tampa and 50 mi. from Orlando in Polk County. Where you hear roosters crow in the morning and frieght train whistles all hours of the day and night! The town is about 125 years old and the only thing in town is a butcher, a Post Office(because we don't get our mail delivered to our homes), and a park with historic buildings on it where we have a wonderful story-telling festival every year. We live in an older home(built in 1920) on about 3 acres, which is something I always wanted to do...fix up(restore) an older home. So now instead of working outside the home. I work on the home! I am(or I think I am-it's a learning process) a plumber, carpenter, electrician, etc. , and I hang a mean sheet of drywall!-lol. Its slow work and it would go a little faster if I didn't have such a phobia of creepy-crawly things! We have my dog 'Buck', Dave's dog 'Bailey'-he rides on the truck with him-, two cats, and a spastic kitten that we got a few months ago for Dalton. My Mother passed away March 2007 and I miss her alot. :'-( My Niece just had her second child this past march. Which makes my sister a "granny" two times over(one boy and one girl). I am trying to navigate "My Space" to keep an 'eye' on my boys and since we are in the 'middle of nowhere' the internet is my lifeline. Well - that's about it for now.....;-).
